A company for bringing water back to life
We started Alchemal because so much of the water around us is slowly suffocating, and the usual answer is another jug of chemicals. Ours is oxygen, put back where the water lost it, with a record that shows what changed.
The problem we kept seeing
Most troubled water fails the same way, from the bottom up. The deep water runs out of dissolved oxygen, the oxygen held in the water itself, and the bottom turns anaerobic, meaning the biology down there keeps working without oxygen. The sediment sours, stored nutrients release, and everything above follows: the algae, the odor, the fish gasping at dawn, the sludge that eats a lagoon's capacity. The standard playbook treats each symptom on its own schedule, a jug for the algae, a mask for the smell, a dredge for the muck, and the condition underneath keeps setting the table for the next season.
What we do about it
We put the oxygen back. Nanobubble oxygenation carries dissolved oxygen through the whole water column and down to the sediment, in bubbles small enough to stay suspended instead of rising and bursting, and it adds nothing else, so the water's own biology does the recovery. Every installation is instrumented from day one, so the water's own readings show whether it is coming back. The ambition behind the company is as wide as water itself; the daily work is one pond, one lagoon, one basin at a time.
Why the name
"Alchemal" nods at alchemy, and this category has always sold a little magic. What we do is simpler: oxygen, restored to the whole water column, and a measured record of what changed.
What we believe
- Life is the technology. Water heals itself when it can breathe, so we give the breath back, oxygen through the whole water column and down to the sediment, and add nothing else.
- Algae, odor, and murk are conditions in the water, and conditions can be changed.
- Numbers carry the claims. A promise without a measurement attached is not one of ours.
- Every fix has limits, ours included: when oxygen is the wrong tool, we say so, and every case file reports what didn't move.
- Timelines are ranges, in weeks and seasons. Nothing about a pond recovers overnight.
